You don't need to sacrafice features to get the scalability and performance you need. StormDB allows you to do everything from simple SQL queries to complex Geo-spatial analysis.
Last Friday (March 22) I presented at PGDay NYC about using Postgres-XC as a key-value store.
The brief 20 minute presentation discussed the idea that Postgres-XC could be used as a key-value store, much like the NoSQL databases out there like MongoDB.
Over the course of a month, there will be 3 PG Days in the US and I'm excited to be going to all of them. Its always a blast to interact with the local communities and see how they are different in different parts of the country.
